Once again we are faced with the decision of who will get to live in the Whitehouse. Much ado will be about absolutely nothing. In my decades of life I do not believe I have seen such a lame field of competitors. Election 2020 was rife with contenders for the throne but now it looks like we will have the same choices: Biden the incumbent and Trump who feels he is the cheated and should be the incumbent. The only bright spot for me is even if Trump somehow pulls this one off, he will not be able to run again.
There does seem to be a number of firsts for this go around. First election I know of where all the competitors did not participate in the debates (Trump has yet to show at one of the televised debates), only candidate I know of that has entered the race with a large number of Federal indictments (not total indictments because the states are still waiting their turn) to be considered while campaigning for the Oval Office and least of all only candidate to be embroiled in such diverse charges as sexual assault, election finance fraud, loan fraud, tax fraud and just outright defrauding the government at both the state and federal levels. They usually wait until they are in office to exhibit their aberrant behavior.
Social Media as usual will be key and Trump just knows how to play this game better than anyone especially our current President. I have even heard that the race could be determined by who Taylor Swift endorses (not she is not running but her influence and those Swifties are a real threat). Money is on her throwing her support to President Biden. However, the Trump cult is stronger than ever and judging from the news this could be a very tight race, like the last one in 2020.
